Romans have a long cultural tradition of festivals. From ancient times till the modern age, Rome has seen the celebration of many great festivals. Visitors to the city must not miss any of these festivals held at various times of the year. In March, chocolate lovers converge on the city to celebrate Eurochocolate, an annual feast glorifying the heavenly substance made from cocoa beans.

The Roma Jazz Festival runs from October till the middle of November and features performances by jazz artists from different parts of the globe. The Gay Village comes alive every year in Rome’s Testaccio area from June to August where goodwill and tolerance for all are celebrated. Other events are the Rome Independent Film Festival, the Good Friday Procession, the Great Autumn Market, the High Fashion Show of Trinita dei Monti and Expo Tevere.
