The Museums in Rome

Rome has a number of museums that house some of the most priceless pieces of art in the world. The Baracco Museum has an extraordinary collection of original Assyrian, Egyptian, Greek and Roman sculptures. Notable pieces include the sphinx of Hatshepsut and the ruins of an ancient Roman house. The Borghese Museum and Gallery contains some of the most famous sculptures by G.L. Bernini like “David” and “Apollo and Daphne”.

It also has Corregio’s “Danae” and Titian’s “Sacred and Profane Love” on display. The Capitoline Museums showcase ancient sculptures and paintings from the 14th to the 17th centuries. Some of the artists whose works are on display are Caravaggio and Domenichino.
