Trevi Fountain
The Trevi Fountain is a fantastic example of Baroque art. In ancient times, it was the terminal point of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct which provided water for the thermal baths. In the 18th century, Pope Clement XII initiated the restoration of the Trevi district and the work on the fountain began. It then took three centuries for the fountain to be completed.

Trevi Fountain
The work is often attributed to Bernini but it was a Roman architect, Nicola Salvi, who worked for twenty years to complete it. A local superstitious belief says that if a visitor will throw a coin over his shoulder into the waters of the fountain, then he will certainly return to Rome.
