Rome Holiday Vacations

Visiting Rome with Minors

There are only two basic tips to follow when a traveller brings his children with him on his trip to Rome: feed them lots and lots of pizza, then feed them lots and lots of gelato. In all seriousness, Rome does not offer a lot of attractions that are aimed specifically at children. But one of these rare attractions is the Time Elevator which takes guests through a tour of Rome’s history with a virtual reality, multi-sensory experience full of special effects. Another attraction is the Museo Explora, the first museum in Italy that was created especially for children.

Little visitors can have fun and learn at the same time with its hands-on exhibitions. Other places that should be visited are Bioparco, the Roman zoo; Il Fantastico Mondo del Fantastico, a theme park that features fairy tale characters like Aladdin and Red Riding Hood; and Parco dei Mostri a Bomarzo, which has sculptures of mythological monsters. And, yes, pizza and gelato are always good standby options.
